Military Personnel Under Investigation for Possession of Potent Cannabis

The Nigerian Police have apprehended a member of the Nigerian Army in possession of Canadian Loud, a highly potent strain of cannabis, within a Lagos barracks.  

The arrest, conducted during a routine operation, has sparked significant public concern over the involvement of military personnel in drug-related activities. The suspect, identified as **Aminu** with service number 13NA/70/11481, was reportedly caught with a substantial quantity of the illegal substance.  

According to a police signal obtained by Sahara Reporters, Aminu will be transferred to the CP Tactical Squad 1 for further investigation. Authorities are working to trace the source of the drugs and determine whether other individuals are implicated.  

A police spokesperson emphasized that this operation is part of the Nigerian Police Force’s broader efforts to combat drug trafficking and consumption. The spokesperson also highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and accountability across all sectors, including the military.

The suspect remains in custody, and investigations are ongoing. This incident underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold the rule of law and address the challenges of drug proliferation in Nigeria.
