Darkoo Calls Out Peter Okoye Over Music Video Drama

British-Nigerian artist Darkoo, whose real name is Oluwafisayo Isa, has stirred online discussions after accusing Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P of the legendary music duo Psquare, of interfering with her music video release for Focus on Me.

Darkoo took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to air her grievances, alleging that Peter was behind the temporary removal of her video from YouTube. The takedown reportedly cited copyright infringement, which Darkoo claims was unwarranted. According to her, the situation escalated after she refused Peter’s request to be featured on the track.

In her tweet, Darkoo stated that she initially chose not to speak out but felt compelled to address the issue. She revealed that the music video was taken down for six days by Peter of Psquare in what she described as an attempt to sabotage the song entirely. According to her, the video has since been reinstated. She clarified that all necessary clearances for the sample had been obtained, emphasizing that it was not the first time working with a sample and that everything had been done by the book

Darkoo explained that she had approached Psquare for clearance before releasing the song, agreeing that Peter, Paul (Rudeboy), and their elder brother Jude Okoye would collectively receive 50% of the song’s earnings. While Paul and Jude were cooperative, she claimed Peter’s actions caused the takedown, disrupting the video’s momentum.

The rapper also revealed she had initially considered featuring Peter in a remix but was surprised by his insistence on being part of the original release.

The incident has sparked diverse reactions from fans, with many commending Darkoo for speaking out and others urging the artists to resolve their differences amicably.
